It produces large, ribbed, beefsteak-style fruits with a deep red hue and a rich, complex flavour that intensifies when cooked. 🌿 Growing & Care Guide

1. Sow Indoors (Best Feb–Apr)

  • Fill the biodegradable pot with compost.

  • Plant one seed about 0.5cm deep in each pot.

  • Water gently and place in a warm, bright spot (18–21°C).

  • Keep compost moist but not soggy.

2. Germination

  • Seeds usually sprout in 7–14 days.

  • Once seedlings are 10–15cm tall with true leaves, they’re ready to transplant.

3. Transplanting

  • Fill the reusable pot with compost.

  • Either place the biodegradable pot directly inside or transplant deeper (up to first leaves) to encourage strong roots.

4. Feeding

  • Apply fish, blood & bone feed every 3–4 weeks.

  • Water well after feeding to activate nutrients.

5. Supporting

  • Use a cane or tomato cage to support the plant.

  • Tie gently with twine as it grows.

6. Flowering & Fruiting

  • Expect rich red, ribbed fruit in mid to late summer.

  • Water consistently and harvest when fruits are fully coloured and slightly soft.
